Can you believe it's been 6 months?? We didn't do anything for it since Valentine's Day was so close! But I just wanted to say how excited we are to make it this far :)
On Friday, Mark and I had the day off, so I took him out to lunch at the place where we went on our second date. Plus I had a "buy one, get one free" coupon, so it was perfect! My meal was so much, that I was able to take it home and have some for dinner, and still have some left over, so I just gave the rest to Mark.
Mark's been wanting the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks since we first saw it in theaters. So I finally got it for him. Mark got his present in the mail a day early, so I let him open it and then we just called Friday "Mark's Valentine's Day".
On Saturday, Mark and I had work from 1 - 5pm, but we got out a few hours early. When we got to our apartment, there was a box waiting at the door. The box was addressed to me and it said 1-800-flowers.com on it!
So I opened the box and was excited to see this beautiful bouquet of flowers! I was surprised too, because I told Mark that I wasn't a huge fan of flowers because they just end up dead in a couple days, but he said that flowers should always be given on Valentine's day, and I just couldn't resist!
After that, I took a nap, and that's when Mark started getting everything ready for dinner. He and a friend of ours, Ben, planned for me and Ben's wife, Lindsey. They got us Chinese take-out and brought it back to the Club House at our apartment complex. They even set up the table and had music playing in the background.
Then we opened our presents. Mark got me a jewelry box and a big bag of MnMs. He also got the list of all the songs we wanted to be played at our wedding reception and he put all the songs on CDs for me. And after that, we watched a movie. Lindsey works at a movie rental place, so she always has a great selection of movies to choose from. We decided to watch House Bunny and it turned out to be a really funny movie!
We had a great day and can't wait til the next fun event!
